From the Marine Corps to Mountain Guide: An Eagle Leader's Journey Through Team RWB Expeditions

Marine Corps Veteran and Eagle Expedition Guide Daniel Silvadoray in Monterrey, Mexico.

When Daniel Silvadoray joined Team RWB's El Paso chapter in 2020, he was looking for a way to stay connected to service and challenge himself physically. Four years later, he's not just participating in adventures – he's leading them, taking fellow veterans on life-changing expeditions through some of North America's most breathtaking terrain.

As a Marine Corps Veteran and dedicated Eagle Leader, Daniel has embraced every opportunity to push his limits. From leading ruck marches and hikes in El Paso to competing in challenging trail runs ranging from 5K to 50 kilometers, his commitment to the Eagle Fire spirit has been unwavering.

In 2024, Daniel took his leadership to new heights by joining Team RWB Expeditions as a guide. His first expedition involved leading Veterans through the rugged Arizona Trail and a section of the Grand Canyon, working alongside fellow Eagle Leader Charles Villalobos in partnership with the Arizona Trail Association.

But it was a September 2024 expedition that truly tested his skills and embodied the transformative power of these adventures. Selected for his expertise in guiding and rappelling, Daniel joined a groundbreaking binational expedition in Monterrey, Mexico, bringing together hikers from El Paso, Texas, and Juárez, Mexico.

"The expedition pushed me to new heights – literally," Daniel shares. "We rappelled down Cascada del Chipitín, navigating through turquoise waters and tackling 90-meter waterfalls. It wasn't just about the physical challenge; it was about building team cohesion across borders while experiencing pure adventure."
