Team RWB Launches ‘Memorial Minutes’ Challenge to Honor 1.3 Million Fallen Service Members

National 25-day fitness challenge invites Americans to log 40 minutes of daily movement leading up to Memorial Day

FLOYDS KNOBS, Ind. – May 1, 2026 – Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB), America's leading health and wellness community for the military-connected community, today announced the launch of Memorial Minutes. This 25-day virtual fitness challenge invites the nation to honor the 1.3 million Americans who gave their lives in service to the United States over the last 250 years.

Starting May 1 and concluding on Memorial Day, May 25, participants are challenged to log 40 minutes of intentional movement each day. The collective goal is to reach 1.3 million total minutes—representing one minute for every service member lost in service over the nation’s 250-year history.

“This is personal for many of us because we all have someone to honor on Memorial Day,” said Col. (Ret.) Michael “Sully” Sullivan, Executive Director of Team RWB. “I’m doing Memorial Minutes to honor and remember my grandfather, Capt. Roy Cunningham, a U.S. Army Air Corps pilot, who served in China, India, and the Burma Theater and was KIA/MIA in 1943. I’m also participating to remember my brothers and sisters who made the ultimate sacrifice. Team RWB is inviting every American to join us and remember the fallen.”

Team RWB carefully decided each number:

  • 1.3 million lives lost in service since the Revolutionary War.

  • 250 years of sacrifice to the nation.

  • 25 days, with each day of the challenge representing a decade of American history.

  • 40 minutes per day, symbolizing approximately one second for every service member killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Memorial Minutes is a free national challenge open to all and made possible thanks to sponsors Vivazen and Armed Forces Vacation Club.

Participants can honor the fallen through any form of movement, including running, walking, rucking, cycling, or functional fitness. Team RWB also encourages participants to share the stories of the individuals they are moving for through the organization’s digital platforms.

To join the mission, participants can download the Team RWB App and begin logging their minutes today. To learn more, visit teamrwb.org/missions/memorial-minutes.
