Overview
Great Basin National Park. Ever hear of it? Home to 13,000’ peaks, marble caves, alpine tundra, ancient bristlecone pine forests, and glacier fed lakes, it’s got some serious adventure cred. Oh, it’s also an international dark sky park offering views of the Milky Way that might be the best in the lower 48. It might surprise you to know that Great Basin is one of the least visited national parks in the country after reading these attributes! Probably best to confirm this place is AMAZING and apply to the Eagle Expedition to Great Basin National Park!
This Expedition blends exploration with meaningful service. In partnership with Soldiers 2 Scientists, Eagles will support National Park Service projects focused on the endangered Bonneville cutthroat trout.
Eagles who attend will be treated to a unique backcountry experience packed with education, wildlife interpretation, conversations with park rangers, and of course, camaraderie, incredible hiking, and team work!

“I couldn’t have hand picked a better group of supportive people for this trail. Every person in my group touched my heart in some way. The open sharing of struggles & life during and after military were very impactful to me. Everyone pulled together when times got tough on the trail. I felt confident in my abilities through the affirmation and kindness of my fellow Eagles.“
