Upstate Kayak and Camping Expedition

Overview
This three-night expedition will bring 12 Eagles together as the Blue Ridge makes its way from spring to summer.
Camping at campsites that are only accessible by boat makes this Expedition a unique opportunity to enjoy the serenity of picturesque Lake Jocasse. The group will spend most of their time paddling the lake to various waterfalls, coves, and hidden swimming holes, while building camaraderie and sharing the challenges of the water.

Applicants will be notified of their status starting April 20. Applicants who apply after April 20 will be notified on a rolling basis.

Itinerary
Day 1: Devils Fork boat launch → Campsite
Paddling to camp from Devils Fork boat launch
Gear will be hauled in by boat. The group will then work together to set up camp and get ready for a great weekend
The group will camp at the same site each night
Day 2-3: Branbury State Park → Silver Lake State Park
Days 2-3 will look similar, with group activity in the morning
Kayaking to various points, swimming, and exploring the terrain around Lake Jocasse
Day 4: Pack-up/Paddle → Return to State Park boat launch
Conclude the trip with a group activity,
Pack up and paddle back to the State Park boat launch
Gear will be hauled back by boat.

Prerequisites & Requirements
No paddling experience required but highly recommended.
Instruction will be provided by Expedition Guides. These will be long, adventurous days on the water!
Eagles should be in good physical health, be able to swim, and be capable of sustained activity for 2+ hours.
