This will be the first Eagle Expedition requiring a passport. It’ll also be the first Eagle Expedition where we bring along one of our talented yoga instructors from the Mind Body Wellness app group to lead the daily yoga practice.
Surf, stretch, breathe, repeat. Portugal is one of the top destinations on Earth to learn how to surf. It’s been a part of Portuguese culture for decades and with countless beaches with sheltered breaks and sandy bottoms, it is primed for reliable waves that are beginner friendly. In the cool azure blue of Atlantic waters Eagles will be guided by professional surf instructors from one of the country’s oldest and reputable surf schools.
Once the days’ surf lessons conclude, head back to the lodge to clean up and grab lunch in Colares. Colares dates back to the 13th century and is the perfect landing for those who love nature and hiking, surfing, and culture.

“I met a great group of Eagles and felt an instant, natural connection with fellow veterans who enjoyed the outdoors, enjoyed the challenging physical activity, and enjoying sharing laughs and struggles together.
For any Eagle out there, new or having been around for a number of years, I encourage you to reach outside your comfort zone and sign up for an expedition that interests you!”
