March Madness: A Brief Intro

It’s time for the third annual Team RWB March Madness Challenge! Eagles worldwide will once again represent their state (or international team) in an Eagle Nation throw-down! Your state’s bragging rights and a sweet Team RWB funded celebration are on the line!! Now is the time to recruit, rally, and rise to the challenge!! Everyone’s invited to this big dance!

New for this year, we’ve added a nutrition element and changed up the scoring, so read on, mark your calendars, and let’s get after it!

THE CHALLENGE

Teams: Each member of Team RWB will be assigned to their state team based on their mailing address. International addresses will represent the international team.

Seeding: Teams will be seeded at random for 2022.

Scoring:

It takes a team to win a championship, and every point makes a difference! You can score multiple points for your team by completing any of the following exercises and then checking in to that event on the Team RWB app. Total team points will be averaged based on the number of team competitors at the start of the competition (from round 1). We work on the honor system. Your check-in counts as proof of workout completion!

FREE THROW (1 point):
1-mile run/walk/ruck/2000m row
OR 5 miles cycling (indoor or outdoor)
OR 3 sets of 5 Push-ups,  10 Sit-ups, 15  Squats
OR Adaptive Seated: 5 Band press,10 Forward hinge,  15 Chair dip
OR

Team scores will be based on the total number of points scored by the team divided by the size of the team. The team size is defined as the number of players on that team in round one. Teams that recruit more players as we go will gain an advantage!

Examples:

Lisa takes her dog for a mile ruck and checks in for a free throw. She scores 1 point for her team today.

Bethany completes 15 minutes of yoga and runs 3 miles. She checks in for a lay-up and a three-pointer and scores 5 points for her team today.

James runs four miles and completes the 10-minute AMRAP today. James checks in for a free throw, a lay-up, and a three-pointer and scores 6 points for his team today.

Dan runs 10 miles. Dan scores 6 points for his team by checking in for a free throw, lay-up and a three-pointer. NOTE: The maximum number of miles you can “score” points for is 6.
