Team Red, White & Blue Announces Appointment of New Board Members

ATLANTA, GA - Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB), today announced three new board members who will help support the nonprofit organization’s efforts to forge America’s leading health and wellness community for veterans. Each new board member offers a unique perspective, military background and an unyielding desire to support veterans’ well-being. 

“Team RWB is thrilled to have three high-caliber veterans—with incredible experience in diverse civilian sectors—join our Board of Directors,” said Mike Erwin, Founder and Executive Director. “Team RWB has tremendous momentum right now, so Jamal, Shana and Thad are joining at just the right time—as we pursue a much bigger, bolder version of Team RWB. Their support on our journey of growth will be instrumental and help us recruit and engage more veterans than ever before.”  

  • Thad Allen: Thad Allen served for 31 years in the U.S. Air Force and Joint Special Operations Community in combat and in support of humanitarian relief operations. Allen served in several director positions including overseeing the well-being of 73,000 special operations forces members and their families. He ended his military career as Vice Director of Athletics at the U.S. Air Force Academy, responsible for its physical mission and 27 intercollegiate sports.

  • Shana Ferguson: Shana (Gritsavage) Ferguson currently serves as the Chief Commercial Officer for USA Swimming, the national governing body for the sport of swimming in the United States. Prior to joining USA Swimming, Ferguson held a number of roles at Under Armour, including head of Global Experiential Marketing and head of Global Corporate Giving. Ferguson is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a 1997 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy.

  • Jamal Sowell: Jamal Allen Sowell is the President of Indelible Business Solutions, a national management consulting firm providing audit, regulatory compliance, emergency management, health education, and technology advisory services to public and private sector organizations. Sowell was Florida’s Secretary of Commerce and Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Florida in the administration of Governor Ron DeSantis. Sowell is a Pat Tillman Scholar, an Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and currently serves as a Navy Reserve Officer.

Paul Bell, Operating Partner at Lead Edge Capital who has flown over 25 missions for Veterans’ Airlift Command steps down from the Team RWB Board of Directors after supporting the organization’s mission since 2012.
