Concept of Operations

Situation:

Twenty years ago, on 19 MAR, US-led coalition forces launched Operation Iraqi Freedom. They quickly overwhelm the Iraqi Army. In just three weeks, on 9 APR, they seized control of Baghdad. 

The seizure of Baghdad would not have been possible without the 1st Marine Division and 3rd Infantry Division. They invaded Iraq along parallel axes, destroying two Iraqi Republican Guard divisions and successfully dislocating Saddam Hussein’s regime from Baghdad - in just 7 days.

Mission:

Honor the 1st Marine Division and 3rd Infantry Division march, and ultimate seizure of Baghdad, on 9 April 2003.

  • Want to host your own Monthly Mission event? Here’s how to create your own member-hosted event in the app so fellow Eagles can find and attend.

    STEP 1: Open the Team RWB Member App and select Events on the bottom navigation menu.

    STEP 2: Click the red plus button near the bottom of the screen.

    STEP 3: Enter the information for the event. Be sure to include “March to Baghdad” in the event title so Eagles know it’s a Monthly Mission event. Once complete, click Create Event. That’s it, you made an Event!

  • Can’t attend your chapter’s event? That's ok! You can participate virtually in 3 easy steps:

    STEP 1: Open the Team RWB Member App and select Challenges on the bottom navigation menu.

    STEP 2: Look at the Active Challenges and select the Monthly Mission event of your choice.

    STEP 3: Once you’re in the Challenge, click Events and “Check in” on the correct Date so you get your Monthly Mission badge. That’s it!
